I started this business in hopes to keep it small and simple and concentrate more on quality of work and customer service. As the demands for a quality painter grew, I found the need to hire a couple of guys in order to try and keep up. They were great guys and they did a great job. The economy in the last two years started to slow and the demand for a premium painter went down. People are more focused on price.

I am in the process of down-sizing in an effort to reduce my costs and make it more affordable to the customer. Due to that, I am no longer going to be able to do certain types of jobs that require 2 or more people and I will be less able to do jobs on a short notice. I will always return calls promptly and I try to get out to give estimates as soon as I can.

I believe that my company, Greg Tietz Painting, is a quality painting company. I know the steps that need to be done before the painting starts and ensure that the painting gets done in a timely manner. One frequent comment that I get from customers is that I am a "neat" painter. The less mess I make during the job, the easier and quicker it is to clean up. I make sure that the customer is as satisfied with the quality of work and the way the job was performed.

I grew up in Kasson-Mantorville, MN, a small community in southeastern Minnesota. In 1989 I attended Mankato State University and graduated in 1995 with an Elementary teaching degree. I started working for a commercial painting company in the Twin Cities area after I graduated from college.

In 1999, I started Greg Tietz Painting. I started my own business because the painting firm I was working for had too many employees. Everyone kind of got lost in the shuffle, including the customers. I felt that I could do a better job and treat my customers as I would want to be treated.

As an added resource, we have worked with a number of decorators. If you are having a difficult time finding the right color or where a certain color should stop and another color should begin, we could contact one of the decorators to assist you. However, many of them have a consulting fee, so keep that in mind.
